Error when a parent tries to access clubs/dinners/payments

If when trying to access clubs/dinners/payments a parent receives the following error:

This issue is caused by the School Gateway account being linked to both the student and parent in your MIS- it will only affect schools who have, or have previously had, the 'student contacts' setting ticked in their import settings.

There is essentially a School Gateway portal in existence for both the parent and the student, and as students can't book club sessions/dinners or make payments, School Gateway produces an error when trying to access.

This issue tends to only occur on the School Gateway App.

There are two possible solutions to resolve the issue:

  1. If you don't need student contact details in Schoolcomms untick the checkbox in your import settings (see below screenshot) and run an import.
    Once the import has completed either email: support@schoolcomms.com or click here to complete a support form requesting all of the student self-contacts are deleted.
  2. Alternatively remove the parents details from SIMS section 4 of the pupils record, then run an import in Schoolcomms.
    Once the import has completed either email: support@schoolcomms.com or click here to complete a support form requesting that we delete the portal linked to the child.
