Why can't I make a refund? More than 180 days since payment was made

If when trying to action a refund in Schoolcomms via Online Transactions Refunds you receive the following error:

"You cannot refund this transaction because it is more than 180 days since the the original transaction has been processed."
This means the original payment is older than the 180 day cut-off, and as a result will need to be refunded via cash/cheque and a manual transaction recorded in Schoolcomms.
