How to create cooking methods to be used with Nutritional Analysis.

What are Cooking Methods?

Frying a piece of fish in oil can change its fat content, whereas baking it in the oven may result in different nutritional values. Similarly, the weight of food can change during cooking; meat often loses weight while rice and pasta typically gain weight. All these changes can be recorded in the system to help you cost and analyse the food you produce.

How to Create Cooking Methods

  1. Navigate to Kitchen Manager > Admin.
  2. Within the navigation menu, click Cooking Methods [1].
  3. Click Add [2].
  4. Enter the Required Cooking Method Name [3], Consider all the items on your menu and the various cooking methods each might require, such as:
    • Baking
    • Frying
    • Stir-Fry
    • Mashing (Especially important if you add ingredients i.e. Butter.)
    • Boiling
    • Grilling
  5. Please note that the above list is not exhaustive and is meant to serve only as examples of different cooking methods. Once the name has been added, click Save [4].
