The cook can use 2 Bluetooth paired tablets to confirm a student’s attendance in the canteen, their meal selection and the collection of their meal. Ideally the students will have pre-selected meals logged which have been done on the morning Whiteboard or by a parent.

Best practices

  • Bluetooth has a limited range, try to keep the devices close together and avoid having a solid object in the way i.e. a wall.
  • Should the connection be lost the Child's tablet (Slave device) will try to automatically reconnect to the Cook’s tablet (Master device) until it is in range to establish the connection.
  • Turn on and sync your tablets at least 30 minutes before using them.
  • The Master device has complete control over the Slave device.

Dual tablet class selection

The cook will need to select the class they are serving on the Master device from the Meal Register list. After selecting the class, go to Menu > View > Photo.

NOTE The Photo view is the ideal view mode for the cook and students to use. It makes it easier for the cook to confirm which student they are serving and helps make sure they are given the correct meals.

  4. The cook must press Select [1] to log the meal as Taken today (refer to Legend) before serving the meal to the student. If the cook presses Cancel [2] the order is cancelled and the menu will close and return to the previous screen.
