Menu Items excluded from student selection based on dietary requirements (Desktop & Whiteboard)

To meet the individual dietary requirements of students and staff and improve clarity for meal selection options that meet dietary requirements, Menu Items can be either excluded or un-selectable on the Desktop, Whiteboard, and Tablet.

Desktop

Menu Items that are excluded based on allergy data will also be exclude based on dietary requirements. For example, if a Menu Item does not have any Diet Types [1] set then a Student Diet Type [2] with a Halal Diet Type [3] will not be able to select or see, depending on the configuration, a Menu Item that is not marked as Halal.

At site-level, to enable the feature to restrict menu items based on a Student's dietary requirements, go to Kitchen Manager > Sites [1] > select a Site [2] > Meal Selection tab [3] > Dietary requirements are not used checkbox [4]

By default, the ‘Dietary requirements are not used’ checkbox is checked. If the Show dietary menu items checkbox is un-checked then menu items with Allergens or Diet types will not be visible for selection.

If the ‘Dietary requirements are not used’ checkbox is un-checked then menu items with allergens will become grey bordered items in the Whiteboard and be un-selectable.

Whiteboard

If the Show dietary menu items checkbox is checked, restricted dietary items will be visible but un-selectable. This is illustrated by a Grey border [1] around a Menu Item that does not meet the dietary requirements of the Student.

NOTE If the Show dietary menu items checkbox is un-checked then the restricted menu items, grey bordered items, will not be visible for selection.
