Stock: Template View

Introduction

Kitchen Manager Stock contains a complete list of stock items and the quantities at a site or total level. These stock items are also used in Recipes in the Menus module.

The default view for the Stock page is Stock View, click the Template [1] button to change the Stock View to a Template view.

NOTE The Template button will change to Stock [2].

Select a Template [3], click the Expand button [4] for a Category and use the Selected [5] check boxes to select or unselect stock items for that template.

When you have made changes to the selected Items in a Template click the Save [6] button.

Stock Table

  1. Code: Stock item code/ID
  2. Stock Item: Description of the stock item (up to 30 characters)
  3. Pack Contents: e.g. 6x850g – there are 6 units in a pack, each weighing 850 grams
  4. Price (£): The price for a full pack or kg if the item is priced in kg
  5. Priced By: The choices are Pack or kg. Item priced by pack can only be purchased in whole packs. Split packs have to be set up as separate items
  6. Units/Pack: Packs are made up of a number of units, these are shown here. When doing a stocktake you can choose if part packs are described as a percentage of a full pack or as units
  7. Supplier: The supplier of the stock items
  8. Selected: Checkboxes confirm if items are selected (Checked) or unselected (un-checked) for the Template
  9. Discontinued: Items are identified as discontinued and no longer available from the Supplier
  10. Category & Sub Category: Sub categories of the Super Category (e.g. Super Category = Fresh Produce, Category = Vegetables, Sub Category = Root Tuberous)

Toolbar

When in Template View select a Template [1] from the menu before using the toolbar features and functions.

The features and functions of the Templates tool bar are as follows:

Search Bar

The search bar allows users to search for a specific type of Stock Item, in this example the user is looking for ‘Fresh’ Stock Items [1]. When you have entered your search term click either the Magnifying icon [2] or press the enter key on your keyboard.

The search results will be reflected in the Stock Items table [3].

Supplier

To refine your search for Fresh Stock Items set the Supplier drop down [1] to a specific supplier, in this example we have selected Brakes.

To view the search results in more detail, click the + icon [2] to expand the collapsed table rows.

Filter

In these examples you are viewing the Events [1] Template and Cooking Sauces, Sauces & Mayo Super Category [2].

To view Stock Items that have been selected or un-selected use the Primary Filter [3] and use the Secondary Filter [4] to view Stock Items that have been discontinued.

When using the filters have been set the Counter [5] for each Stock Item will change to reflect how many Stock Items are visible in the Table.

Show All

When both the Primary Filter [1] and Secondary Filter [2] are set to Show All you will be able to see all the Selected/un-selected [3] Stock Items that have been Discontinued [4] in each Super Category.

Show All & Hide Discontinued

When the Primary Filter [1] is set to Show All and the Secondary Filter [2] is set to Hide Discontinued you will be able to see all the Selected/un-selected [3] and only the stock Items that have been Discontinued [4] in each Super Category.

Show All & Show Discontinued

When the Primary Filter [1] is set to Show All and the Secondary Filter [2] is set to Show Discontinued you will be able to see all the Selected/un-selected [3] Stock Items that have been Discontinued [4] in each Super Category.

Hide Unselected & Show All

When the Primary Filter [1] is set to Hide Unselected and the Secondary Filter [2] is set to Show All you will be able to see all the Un-selected [3] Stock Items that are both Discontinued [4] and Available for selection in each Super Category.

Hide Unselected & Hide Discontinued

When the Primary Filter [1] is set to Hide Unselected and the Secondary Filter [2] is set to Hide Discontinued you will be able to see all the Selected [3] Stock Items that are not Discontinued [4] in each Super Category.

Hide Unselected & Show Discontinued

When the Primary Filter [1] is set to Hide Unselected and the Secondary Filter [2] is set to Show Discontinued you will not get any search results as you cannot have selected Stock Items that are discontinued.

Export

The Export [1] button has two options available for exporting an Excel document of the Stock data.

The Export grid [2] option will generate and download a complete spreadsheet of all the Stock data visible in the Stock grid.

The Export Allergens and diet types [3] option will generate and download a spreadsheet of all the Stock Item allergen and diet type data.
