IMPORTANT: Please be aware due to statutory changes to the attendance codes in SIMS Summer 2024 release, a new version of Schoolcomms Desktop (9.6P) is required.
After the 1st July please download the latest version via the link below.
Schools that are hosted (accesses Schoolcomms via the focus menus) will need to raise this request with their host.
Please ensure you have uninstalled your previous version of Schoolcomms before proceeding with the new download.
- If you currently have Schoolcomms installed, uninstall the current version of Schoolcomms via Start | Control Panel | Programs & Features.
- Close SIMS
- Please check you are on the latest .net framework
- Click here Download Schoolcomms
- Follow the step by step instructions
- Once the installation has finished double click on the Schoolcomms icon that has automatically been installed on your desktop
- For existing licence holders, select Log in for account holders
- Enter your login credentials and select Login
N.B: If you experience difficulties installing the latest version of Schoolcomms, it is possible that Schoolcomms is still being traced which is preventing the installation to complete successfully.
To ensure Schoolcomms has been fully removed please follow the below instructions:
- Press and hold the Windows flag button on the bottom left corner of your keyboard and press R
- This should open up the Run window in the bottom left corner of the screen, type %appdata% and click OK
- In the folder that opens up, right click on the Schoolcomms folder and delete
All elements of the previous Schoolcomms installation will now be successfully uninstalled, you will now need to reinstall the latest version of Schoolcomms.
Click here to re-install Schoolcomms.
Minimum requirements
- Supported operating systems include: Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows server 2008 (inc. R2) and Windows server 2012
- 3.0 GHz (single core) Intel Pentium-class processor
- 2048 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher
- 30 MB of hard disk space required plus 500 MB headroom. More will be needed if the setup process needs to install Microsoft .NET 4
- 1024 x 768 or higher-resolution display with 24-bit colour
