To successfully import contact details, message contacts within Schoolcomms and for parents to access School Gateway, you will need the following data in Arbor:
- Schoolcomms will import from the “Mobile Phone” and “Email Address” fields
- “Emergency contact” drop-down = priority
- “Legal guardian” = parental responsibility
Editing a parent’s contact details
- When editing a parent’s contact details, Arbor allows you to add multiple mobile numbers - Schoolcomms will import the last one in the list if this is the case
- There are 3 types of Email addresses - Work, Personal and Other - Schoolcomms imports any of these
- If there are multiple email addresses, Schoolcomms will import whichever is marked as Default.
For students
- Arbor allows students to have multiple mobile numbers - in which case, Schoolcomms will import the last one in the list
- There are 3 types of Email addresses - Work, Personal and Other - Schoolcomms imports any of these
- If there are multiple email addresses, Schoolcomms will import whichever is marked as Default.
For Staff
- Arbor allows staff members to have multiple mobile numbers - in which case, Schoolcomms will import the last one in the list
- There are 3 types of Email addresses - Work, Personal and Other - Schoolcomms imports any of these
- If there are multiple email addresses, Schoolcomms will import whichever is marked as Default.
Staff roles
- If the staff Business Role in Arbor contains the word “Teacher”, the member will be placed into the MIS: Staff - Teacher (Schoolcomms created) group
- Any other roles will place the staff member into the MIS: Staff - Support Staff (Schoolcomms created) group.
Your import settings determine the contacts and data that are imported from your MIS database.
To review your Schoolcomms Import Settings go to Dashboard > Import Management > Edit settings
