When in Template View select a Template [1] from the menu before using the toolbar features and functions.
When the Primary Filter [2] is set to Hide Unselected and the Secondary Filter [3] is set to Show Discontinued you will not get any search results as you cannot have selected Stock Items that are discontinued.
