Why am I getting spell check issues in the Schoolcomms desktop application?

If you are experiencing spell check issues in the Schoolcomms desktop application, you can pass the following information on to your IT Support to help resolve the issue.

The Schoolcomms' versions of the dlls (Keyoti.RapidSpellMDict.dll and Keyoti.RapidSpell.NET2.dll) need to be moved from C:\Program Files\Schoolcomms\1.0.0.0 to C:\Windows\Assembly via the GAC Tool.

1. Close Schoolcomms and SIMS

2. Navigate to the folder containing the file "gacutil.exe" - in most cases this should be in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\Bin

3. Run command prompt as an administrator and change the directory to point towards the above file path using the "cd" command (e.g. "cd C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v7.0A\Bin")

4. Type: gacutil /i "C:\Program Files\Schoolcomms\1.0.0.0\Keyoti.RapidSpellMDict.dll" (including the speech marks) and press Enter.

5. If successful, you should see 'Assembly successfully added to the cache'

6. Type: gacutil /i "C:\Program Files\Schoolcomms\1.0.0.0\Keyoti.RapidSpell.NET2.dll" (including the speech marks) and press Enter.

7. Again, if successful, you should see 'Assembly successfully added to the cache'
