Introducing MIS Sync for manual uploads

What is it?

The MIS Sync application is a tool that enables you to upload Pupil, Staff, Visitor, Pre-admission, and Other records from your Management Information System (MIS) (or other database) into ParentPay. This ensures that this data is maintained in only one place, removing duplication and unnecessary administration. Regular uploads must be performed to ensure that your data remains consistent, especially during periods of change (e.g. new intake, FSM adjustments, etc.).

ParentPay now integrates with many of the leading MIS providers through an API, meaning that once set up, you can simply upload Pupils, Staff, and Pre-admissions directly from the Manager Application.  However, you will still need MIS Sync to upload Visitors or Others if these are required.

IMPORTANT

MIS Sync can only be installed on a PC, Workstation or Server using the Microsoft Windows Operating System; it is not possible to install on Apple/Mac products.

MIS Sync should always be downloaded directly from the ParentPay support site to ensure you have the latest approved version available. See article How to get the latest version of MIS Sync.

Do I have to use it?

ParentPay integrates with most MIS providers through an API to make it simple to upload Pupils, Staff, and Pre-admission data directly through the Manager Application. You can check to see if you can use such an API by reviewing the guidance in the appropriate Uploading and Importing section for your MIS provider.

If your provider does not have an integrated API solution, you will need to use MIS Sync to upload all Pupils, Staff, Visitors, Pre-admissions, and Others into the ParentPay system.

Regardless of the solution, if you require Visitors, such as Governers or PTA members, or Others such as students from other schools, to make payments for items and services you provide, you will need to perform a manual upload using the MIS Sync application.

How do I get it and set it up?

You will find comprehensive guidance on downloading, configuring, and using the application in the General (MIS Sync) section.
